Cuba Museum of Fine Arts

Opened in 1913, the National Museum of Fine Arts today can offer not only a rich collection of Cuban paintings from the 18th century to the present day, but also masterpieces of European art. More than 47 thousand exhibits are stored in the funds of the museum complex. The basis of the collection is the work of the Spaniards, the British and the French. The pride of the museum is the largest collection of Spanish paintings from all that exist outside the Iberian Peninsula. According to a2zdirectory.org, the museum contains three large expositions. The first one is dedicated to Cuban art of the 17th century and includes over 4,000 paintings, over 13,000 engravings and 285 sculptures. The second exposition is devoted to European art and contains more than 1600 paintings and 126 sculptures. The third exposition – on the theme of ancient art from Egypt to the Roman Empire – contains 600 exhibits.
There are two options for viewing the exposition:

  1. Thematic viewing of the exposition for 30 minutes, accompanied by a guide. The tour includes expositions dedicated to Cuban art from the time of colonization to the present.
  2. General inspection of stationary exhibitions for 1 hour, accompanied by a specialized guide, during which you can get acquainted with the works of Cuban and European artists.

Flavors of Havana

Excursion to the National Oceanarium

The National Oceanarium is a scientific research center where you can get acquainted with the life of marine flora and fauna. During the tour you will see beautiful specimens of marine animals living in the waters of the Cuban archipelago.

1. Excursion “Walk in the underwater world”

During this excursion, you will see the inhabitants of the deep sea living in aquariums and reservoirs in conditions that are as close as possible to their natural habitat. You will visit the scientific library, where you will learn more about the underwater world and its inhabitants.

2. Lunches and dinners in the underwater restaurant “Gran Azul”

Excursion to Pinar del Rio and Viñales Valley

Departure to the Viñales Valley, which is located in the westernmost province of Cuba, Pinar del Rio, famous for growing the best tobacco in the world. On the way, acquaintance with the nature of Cuba, its exotic flora, in particular with the royal palms, which are the national symbol of Cuba. Visit to a tobacco factory in Pinar del Rio. Visit to Indian Cave and boat ride on the underground river. Lunch at a local restaurant. A tourist complex located in the middle of a picturesque lagoon. “Conversation with Time” Cienfuegos – Trinidad, 2 days

1st day.

Departure to the city of Cienfuegos. On the way, at km 144, a stop at the Fiesta Campesina farm, where the life of Cuban peasants is presented. Here you can see the main animals bred in Cuba, try guarapo – sugarcane juice squeezed in the old way, taste real Cuban coffee. Arrival in Cienfuegos. Walk through the main streets and squares of Cienfuegos, the only city on the island founded by the French. The city is located on a beautiful bay, protected from enemies by the fortress of Jagua. The French origin of the city makes it different from other cities in Cuba: it is distinguished by a perfect symmetry of planning, neoclassical buildings and a long pedestrian boulevard. Walk through Marty Park, outside inspection of the Thomas Terry Theatre, the House of Cultural Benefits and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin. Walk along the Prado Boulevard to the Palazzo del Valle, where you will be offered a cocktail. Lunch at Cienfuegos Nautical Club with 1 drink. After breakfast, check out from the hotel and departure to the city of Trinidad. Visiting the main parish church of the Holy Trinity, viewing the luxurious altar, made of precious wood and decorated with images of more than three hundred years. Inspection of the Main Square and the Cantero Palace. Visiting the Canchánchara tavern and tasting the drink of the same name. Lunch at the Plaza Mayor restaurant (1 drink included).
