Glashutte Watchmaking History

Without a doubt, the small Saxon town Glashütte is the center of watchmaking in Germany. Since in 1845 Ferdinand Adolph Lange opened the first watchmaker in the Müglitztal timepieces are built of world renown. We present the ten most famous watchmaker which carry the Glashutte logo on the dial. And being just the best time to travel, we have marked these ten manufacturers on a map. Most of you give visitors an insight into their work – usually you should however advance sign up and make an appointment. The travel is worthwhile in any case, because that offers numerous destinations also hikers against Glashütte and Dresden is just a half-hour drive away.
