NMW 2016 Phones

Away from the flagships by Samsung and LG, smaller manufacturers introduce various smartphones under 300 euros. Worth a look: good trade-offs between claim and price see the models from Acer, bq, Medion and co..

Traditionally, the MWC is the fair of the Smartphone flagships. In their shadow, various manufacturers such as Acer, Alcatel, HTC and WIKO present their Android smartphones, which are usually not quite as good,

but at a reasonable price are sold. We have compiled an overview of the most important new ideas of the fair of smartphones under $300.

Acer liquid Z630S

The “S” in the Acer liquid Z630S is a rather careful update of the liquid Z630. The Android Smartphone is already available in Germany for 230 euro. The biggest feature is at the Z630 the 4000 mAh battery, with up to 21 hours at the phone and nearly a month in the standby to run your Smartphone according to the manufacturer. Enhanced Acer has the performance, there’s also the Smartphone internal memory which can be expanded via MicroSD now with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB. The Smartphone in the plastic look offers LTE and a not very high resolution display (720 p) with 5.5 inches diagonal.

Archos diamond 2 plus

High-end equipment for 300 euro plus has the Archos Diamond 2: full-HD display with 5.5 inches, a 20.7-mega pixel camera, a fingerprint sensor, fast LTE CAT 6, 64 GB of onboard memory and 4 GB of RAM are key data which are actually expected more expensive devices. Moreover, a sleek metal casing and with Android 6.0 an operating system up to date. Only the integrated Mediatek processor Helio P10 raises a question mark with eight cores: if he can keep up with the Qualcomm processors of more expensive smartphones, can really estimate only after extensive laboratory testing. The ARCHOS booth at MWC, the Smartphone but made a quite snappy impression.

BQ Aquaris X 5 plus

The Spanish company bq is best known in this country for his Ubuntu smartphones. At the MWC there to watch but also a new Android Smartphone: the Aquaris X 5 with the bq Aquaris X 5 plus revised bq, differently than its predecessor it has incorporated a fingerprint sensor has and is delivered with Android 6.0. In addition, the LC-display with full HD has a higher resolution and the new middle-class processor Snapdragon 652 is built. A concrete price called bq so far still not, available Smartphone will cost storage with 16, 32 or 64 GB depending upon equipment probably around 300 euros.

HTC desire 530 and 825

HTC Launches the desire series two new smartphones to Germany. The desire of 530 for 220 euro has to offer an Interestingly designed plastic back in the embroidery design in grey and white. The hardware is OK, but is clear entry-level: a weak chest, Snapdragon 210, 16 GB Flash, a 8-megapixel camera and a 5-inch display (1280 x 720).

The desire of 825 has the same design, is larger and better equipped with snapdragon 400 and 13-mega pixel camera but with 5.5-inch display (1280 x 720). The price is quite high for the technical specifications: 350 euro. Two smartphones running Android 6.0.

Medion S5004 and S5504

Medion expanded its mid-range line to the comparatively chic Medion S5004 and Medion S5504. Both are solid ‘bread and butter’-smartphones, which differ mainly in the display diagonal and the price. The S5504 has a relatively large display with 5.5 inches and 720 p resolution and 200 euros, 250 euros, the S5004 with 5 inches and also 1280 × 720 pixels. The S5504 has more memory (32 GB Flash, 2 GB RAM) as the S5004 (16 GB, 1 GB).

Both Smartphones have LTE, a 13-megapixel camera and a dual-SIM slot. Minus points there are 5.1. coming out of the outdated Android to the S5504 in the second quarter of 2016, the S5004 should be available in March.

LG X screen and X cam

The LG X screen is the first mid-range Smartphone that takes care of the dual-screen concept of LG V10. Above the 4.9 inch display it has another 520 pixels wide and 80 pixels high mini Panel installed, which seamlessly ties in with the large screen and display additional information – for example, the icons of the recently opened apps. In standby mode, the bar constantly displays information such as time and battery icon. It has a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a non-descript 4-core processor with 1.2 GHz.

The LG X cam is on the back side, however, a dual-camera, as seen by the LG G5. Besides the normal 13 megapixel camera, there is a wide angle lens with 5 megapixels. The processor has 8 cores and pulses with 1.18 GHz.

Both LG smart phones have 16 GB Flash memory, 2 GB RAM, LTE and Android 6.0. Come on the market in the next few months should, LG did not give a price yet It is expected however to 300 euro.

OBI MV1

The young Smartphone manufacturer Obi Worldphone to ex-Apple CEO John Sculley has so far focused on markets in Asia and the Middle East, the OBI MV1 to come but also to Europe. It is especially cheap depending on the facilities with 140 to 150 euro, looks but not so cheap send out with its polycarbonate housing. The price is a real challenge, because the equipment is neat with 720 p display, LTE and dual SIM. Only the weak-breasted Snapdragon 212 could provide potentially trouble – on the test device, the software ran but fairly fast. As an alternative to Android 5.1, there is the Smartphone with cyanogen OS.

WIKO U feel and U feel Lite

The French manufacturer of WIKO is almost not been indispensable with his rather cheap Smartphones from the electronics markets in Germany. At the MWC there was to see a slew of new smartphones, which are also for the smaller purse. While 230 Euro U feel RAM offers a 13-megapixel rear camera and 3 GB, there are only 8 mega pixels and 2 GByte 30 Euro cheaper Lite.
